Hello and welcome to my blog. I am Carolyn Doughty and am one of the sculptors and silicone doll makers at Our World of Chi. I will be talking regularly about the Chi Children we are planning, making and also updates and photographs of work-in-progress.
I have just come back from holiday in the Lakes where I took Raz, our large boy faerie, the photo above being of him having pride-of-place on my bed! Raz was part sculpted by Ja'mir (head and torso - the fun bits!) and part sculpted by me, he is made in silicone but with wire armatures so he is poseable and doesn't he just LOVE posing for photos. I made a prototype of him which I sent to Ja'mir in Bulgaria and she re-named her boy 'Aramie'. The second Razeer I kept for myself and he now has two quite gorgeous sets of clothing which he waited (fairly) patiently for - his casual clothes he is wearing in the photo which he wanted to take with him on holiday, and a really lovely green velvet outfit with gold braiding ... so handsome!
The second pic in the photos is WIP (work in progress) photos of the two little elves I have been making. This was from a set of 'How To' videos that Ja'mir has made for a silicone facebook group so I decided to sculpt along with the videos and these little chaps popped out of the clay. The little closed eye faerie I names Coni and the little open eyed elf is called Streem. I'm not too sure of their gender as yet - Coni is definitely female but I'm not too sure about Streem - not sure he's decided himself yet.
The third photo above is of a very special Chi person - Ariel who is a WIP sculpt. He is a boy Star Child and we are still very curious who he really is - we just know he is going to be VERY special.
Please feel free to comment beneath these blogs, it will feel a little less like I'm talking to myself. If there is a special fae being you would love to see in silicone, or if you have seen any sculpts you particularly like, we would LOVE to hear from you. We have around 10 Chi children in progress and are hoping to get the prototypes done over the next couple of months so PLEASE pop back and check on progress.
