We now have a Twitter thingy! I'm not great on social media just yet so bear with. Until now I've resisted the twitterbug because there are enough things to think about but yes I've set us up a Twitter thingy so if you link in with us you will see our updates on there too. Our twitter tweety name is ourworldofchi1. So please follow us because it is soooo sad talking to myself.
We had an absolutely fabulous day at the Peterborough Doll Show yesterday - but I will let the photographs speak for themselves...
Oooh where to start?
Well we have given birth to a baby dragon this week - his name is Draggle and he is simply gorgeous. So the prototype is made and photographed and he stole my heart so he is going to stay home with me as my pet dragon.
This is Draggle's story:
Draggle is my number 9 energy , cute baby humanitarian, totally selfless and wrapped up in the owners needs. He is the listener of problems, full of empathy and learning the ways of humans and why they do not see the magic within themselves. He is the light that will spread into your heart and show you how unique and magical you are so you too can ripple out this light to others.
Draggle will sit on your shoulder and whisper sweet nothings in your ear, showing you the way, enlightening your soul, and reminding you of all the wonders you have forgotten since coming here and putting on your skin suit . He is not for the faint-hearted , he will help you look deep within your soul for the hidden secrets to yourself and help you open doors that you would not have known existed while your ego stands in the doorway. He reaches down and pulls your soul to the surface.
The other newbie in the Chi Children range is our gorgeous Ava'Chi. Ava'chi is inspired by the avatar babies but from our own special perspective, he is only 10" long and is utterly adorable.
This is Ava'Chi's story:
Well this is a special story indeed, this little avi has been with me for a while now, rolling in and out of sleep in my head, whispering what he is all about …. he is the nature lover , the one who holds the secrets to the energy stream, a deity of sorts on Darthanion, his world, where some go to play in the trees and flowers that are sprinkled everywhere you look. He sees deeper than most and can show you the way to attain everything you need, to have a life that has no wants or needs.
Ava’chi is an 8 energy , and although the 8’s stand for material satisfaction, they are not about accumulating wealth and material goods, but rather how to gather the energy to get what you need and help others get what they need in order for their souls to grow and be nourished. It is about gathering resources for the betterment of all, not greed, or power. He is a very special little one indeed, and he has been very patiently waiting to come through and join our little band of Chi Children. But he of all knows, some things take time, and the energy must be right before he can appear in all his glory and spread his light and special brand of magic into your heart and soul.
That's all for today but will be adding more as the weekend progresses!
Bye for now,
Just a really quick blog today ... Chanter is ready to go home to her new mum - at least she will be ready when her clothes arrive.
And I've started a new sculpt - this is Daniel and he will be a small size early baby, around 18". Still a way to go and he will look a lot better with ears!
Bye for now,
Blimey I've been so busy these last few weeks I've neglected my blog. So anyway - today I finished painting little Chanter, our mini star baby, shown in the photos above. She is going to Sweden and she needs some pink hair which she will get tomorrow, but she really wanted to have a photo shoot so I obliged. These little Chanter babies are SO photogenic. So she will get some more photos taken tomorrow with her candy pink hair so watch this space.
What else have I been up to ... before we leave the subject of Chanter I should mention that I finished the Chanter I made for Ja'mir and sent her over to Bulgaria along with the prototypes for our little elf Na'Noo, our little Pan, and our very special and gorgeous dragonfly boy .... Eru ...
Little Eru is SO special - and this little prototype even got himself a tattoo on his arm of a little green tree frog - by special request of his mum Ja'mir. Of course she was totally smitten both with Eru and her very squishy baby from the Chanter mould which she has named Alula (or Lula for short) ...
The only other thing I can think of is Chaddy - Chardika went home to her new mum in the USA and Erika was absolutely thrilled with her.
So that's all for today except to say that my old website at dreams-reborn hasn't been working properly for a while now so I decided to close it down and just work from this website at Our World of Chi, so we set up a new tab called Carolyn's Creations and this is where I live from this point onwards.
So I won't leave it as long before I post again, see you soon.
I am SO in love !!!
I did a test pour of our little Star Baby, Chanter, at the weekend - poured in a super soft silicone that we have mixed especially and when I pulled her from the mould I was quite literally speechless for quite a time - she was SO very special. She is so soft and floppy and squishy she just melts into your hands and lies there looking up at you and cuddling - I just can't put her down.
A tiny 12" in length, she is smaller than her big sister Tarra, but so full of mischief and love. I am utterly bewitched by her and felt I had to sit down and paint her immediately which I did. Here she is - first she wanted lilac eyes but then she settled for hazel coloured eyes and a mop of auburn hair. I found that she fits ready-made preemie size clothing so have ordered some onesies and nappies for her, but she will also come with a special outfit that is being made by Ja'mir, similar to Tarra's outfit I understand.
Anyway to remind you - this is her story written by Ja'mir who has been in touch with this special little soul whilst I've been crafting her :
Chanter another of Carolyn’s beautiful baby sculpts , is the giver of love, life and harmony to any situation, The nurturer, the helper, the one who will always be at your side to bring a smile, a ray of sunshine and hope to your world.
So Chanter will be £650 plus postage and can be pre-ordered with a 20% deposit. She will be available as a very limited edition so if you are interested please get in touch asap to avoid disappointment.
This particular baby is one of the few that I just cannot let go, so am keeping her for myself... that doesn't happen very often ... and I just know that you will love Chanter as much as I do.
Hello and welcome to my blog. I am Carolyn Doughty and am one of the sculptors and silicone doll makers at Our World of Chi. I will be talking regularly about the Chi Children we are planning, making and also updates and photographs of work-in-progress.
I have just come back from holiday in the Lakes where I took Raz, our large boy faerie, the photo above being of him having pride-of-place on my bed! Raz was part sculpted by Ja'mir (head and torso - the fun bits!) and part sculpted by me, he is made in silicone but with wire armatures so he is poseable and doesn't he just LOVE posing for photos. I made a prototype of him which I sent to Ja'mir in Bulgaria and she re-named her boy 'Aramie'. The second Razeer I kept for myself and he now has two quite gorgeous sets of clothing which he waited (fairly) patiently for - his casual clothes he is wearing in the photo which he wanted to take with him on holiday, and a really lovely green velvet outfit with gold braiding ... so handsome!
The second pic in the photos is WIP (work in progress) photos of the two little elves I have been making. This was from a set of 'How To' videos that Ja'mir has made for a silicone facebook group so I decided to sculpt along with the videos and these little chaps popped out of the clay. The little closed eye faerie I names Coni and the little open eyed elf is called Streem. I'm not too sure of their gender as yet - Coni is definitely female but I'm not too sure about Streem - not sure he's decided himself yet.
The third photo above is of a very special Chi person - Ariel who is a WIP sculpt. He is a boy Star Child and we are still very curious who he really is - we just know he is going to be VERY special.
Please feel free to comment beneath these blogs, it will feel a little less like I'm talking to myself. If there is a special fae being you would love to see in silicone, or if you have seen any sculpts you particularly like, we would LOVE to hear from you. We have around 10 Chi children in progress and are hoping to get the prototypes done over the next couple of months so PLEASE pop back and check on progress.
